I bought this camera for my wife who is not good with gagetry, but she wanted to start taking pictures. It has been a fantastic camera for her. It is not complicated. It seems to take great pictures on any setting. And best of all my wife uses it all the time. It’s so compact she just carries it in her purse where ever she goes. I’ve taken pictures with it too and it is just first rate. We liked it so much we bought a second just to have so when this one finally falls apart we have a back up. The software is easy to use too. It pretty much downloads your pics without you doing much of anything except plugging in the cord to your computer.

Canon PowerShot SD1200IS 10 MP Digital Camera with 3x Optical Image Stabilized Zoom and 2.5-inch LCD (Blue) Review

I purchased this product for several reasons:
1. My wife wanted another digital camera that did better at charging up between pictures – faster. This one does.
2. It had to be small so she can carry it in her purse. This one is very easy to tuck into a purse.
3. My wife also wanted increased picture quality. The 10MP is over double what we already had, and is great.
4. My wife likes the color (blue), but for some reason picking any other color cost more.Still, it meets her needs.
5. She has not had it long enough to see, but so far battery life seems to be okay. Still on the first charge.
6. We wanted an easier picture transfer approach, but this one still uses that little docking station – not so good. My old camera just uses a simple USB cable to the PC. Much better when traveling because you don’t have to carry all that other stuff.
7. It sure would be great to get a camera that charges by plugging into the USB port on a PC, but I haven’t found one yet (including this camera). It requires taking the battery out and putting in a charge station (also extra stuff to carry when you travel).

Overall, I am happy with this purchase becaue my wife is happy – sort of the point on this one!

Canon PowerShot SD780IS 12.1 MP Digital Camera with 3x Optical Image Stabilized Zoom and 2.5-inch LCD (Black) Review

Bought this as an supplement to Canon SLR, for portability reasons. Size is a real plus for this. Photo quality is good.
I would recommend reading and viewing photos in the reviews made by specialists on the web, it’s all there.

I am very disappointed with the way Amazon offers a bonus SD card for this purchase (and others too). On the product page it says you get a bonus 4gb card, but you really don’t get this unless you add the card to the basket. I realized this after the order was shipped (some of you are laughing right now). It’s a dirty sales trick from Amazon, but what’s not dirty when it comes to sales? Next time I’ll know this, but who knows what else they’ll come up with.
