Kodak EasyShare M1063 10.3 MP Digital Camera with 3x Optical Zoom (Pink) Review

This is a great camera. It’s sleek, compact, and the clarity of the pictures is great, even in zoom.

I’ve noticed a lot of problems with the Software however, so here’s some quick advice: Do not install the Software. There is a much, much easier way to get your pictures off of your camera. This is how to do in on a Windows computer.

1. Go to Start>>My Computer.
2. A little picture of the camera should appear if you have it plugged into your computer.
3. Just click on the camera and look at the folders. Your pictures should be there.
4. Just drag your pictures into wherever you want to store them on your computer.

Nice and simple, without having to worry about any of the software.

Kodak EasyShare M863 8.2MP Digital Camera with 3x Optical Zoom (Red) Review

I’ve had digital cameras for about ten years now, and I must say my M863 is my favorite (close runner up is the C743 that I broke, which I also ADORED). I trust Kodak as a brand, I’ve never had a total lemon (minus my mom’s Z1285). I’ve beaten mine up since early August 2008 and I’ve yet to be totally disappointed. I’ve really abused this camera, it’s gone everywhere I have (gotten slightly wet on occasion) and thrown at multiple things, it’s never once skipped a beat. If it ever glitches you pull out the battery and it’s perfect again. You can’t go wrong with this camera!

Pros – Easy to use
- Fits in any pocket
- Slim design
- Fast start up
- Great battery life
- Decent pictures outdoors
- Great pictures indoors (with proper lighting settings)
- Zoom during video is digital (no noise reduction!)
- Decent video when not using digital zoom
- Optical zoom is strong and does not create blurry and out of focus pictures or video
- Takes LOTS of abuse in your pocket, purse, or bag and will keep kicking.

Cons – You MUST be mindful of the settings you’re using
- Digital zoom in video mode makes the videos horribly pixelated
- Digital zoom in general makes images look horrid
- Certain settings make the camera freeze up a bit, you need to have a fully charged battery in order to really enjoy the night time options
- Any slight obstruction and the flash becomes rather useless to the picture (common thing though)
- Digital stabilization doesn’t do as much as you’d think it would, but still useful.
- Any kind of stabilization is only present when you use the flash
- Red-eye flash can sometimes make the camera rather slow to respond

Kodak EasyShare V550 5MP Digital Camera with 3x Optical Zoom (Silver) Review

This was my first digital camera that I purchased in 2005. I bought a refurbished one for almost 3/4 of the retail price, which was a great deal. As of 2009, I still have this camera. It has served every purpose needed. The thing I like most about this camera is that it starts up in about 1 second, and takes a picture very quickly. I am always sniper shooting people. It is on the bigger and heavier side, but when it came out it was the real deal. The zoom is really good and can get really close. The only problems I have are taking pictures when its fairly dark, and with some light. I am looking for a new camera, but that is only because I want a smaller one, and this one is so scratched up.
I highly recommend this camera.

I bought this camera for my wife who is not good with gagetry, but she wanted to start taking pictures. It has been a fantastic camera for her. It is not complicated. It seems to take great pictures on any setting. And best of all my wife uses it all the time. It’s so compact she just carries it in her purse where ever she goes. I’ve taken pictures with it too and it is just first rate. We liked it so much we bought a second just to have so when this one finally falls apart we have a back up. The software is easy to use too. It pretty much downloads your pics without you doing much of anything except plugging in the cord to your computer.
